K-Class Fire Extinguishers are required in all commercial kitchens as a back up to the fire suppression system. Care must be used, the K-class fire extinguisher is strictly for after discharge flare-ups. It is not to be used before the fire suppression system has been activated. The Fire extinguisher does not have enough chemical to fully extinguish the fire, and may make it worse.
